When I was seven
I was in heaven
For I had on my feet
A pair of shoes no one could beat
That they were by far
A real star
I loved those shoes
but everyone pays their dues
And so my feet grew
and I knew
That no longer would they fit
so I would sit
and cry
and cry
But twenty odd years later
Arise I did like a phoenix from a crater
On a shinning pedestal
for everyone to see and drool
a pair of shoes so red
they sent most people to their bed
Had to have them I knew
so I blew
Fifty bucks
which kind of sucks
But what they hell
They put me in a spell

I wrote this after purchasing a great pair of red shoes that reminded me of my dark red maryjanes that I had in the second grade and that I wore with everything including my pink, green, and brown plaid bellbottoms. I have a picture of myself with a cute bright yellow dress and my scuffed up red maryjanes.
